The battle royale stages of PUBG Mobile demanded way more than the Dimensity 1000+ chip could take - and we had to use it on Balanced graphics settings. Almost every game worked pretty well as long as it was offline. We tried a couple of games like Call of Duty: Mobile, Real Racing 3, and PUBG Mobile. Gaming performance is a toughie on the Reno 5 Pro.

App switching was smooth and we did not find any issues with the performance of the Reno 5 Pro on a daily usage basis. The overall performance is okay as long as you are swiping through apps, using your social media to the fullest, using the cameras and such. The Reno 5 Pro's OS also featured something called FlexDrop which allows for app minimisation into an interactive floating window or smaller panels which are view-only. The Oppo apps include Music, Browser, Theme Store and such. The Reno 5 Pro gets bloatware from Oppo and also from third-party developers - which can be easily installed. This includes heavy customisation like changing the AOD watch faces, three intensities of the dark mode, and a new Game Space menu which can be summoned by swiping from the left while playing games.

The overall design of the Reno 5 Pro is eye-catchy. The display is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 panel.
